The Photonics Institute of Vienna University of Technology invites applications for 2 PhD positions in ultrafast laser science and Attosecond Physics The research pursued at Photonics Institute focuses on the generation of ultrashort high-intensity laser pulses, generation of THz pulses and realization of nano-photonic devices as well as their applications. The focus of the position is to experimentally study ultrafast electron and nuclear dynamics in atoms and molecules exposed to strong laser fields on attosecond (10-18 second) to few femto-second (10-15 second) time-scales using channel-resolved photoelectron spectroscopy. The specific goal is the reconstruction of the electronic wave-function of a complex quantum system by atto-second electron wavepacket interferometry, using the state-of-the-art experimental infrastructure of the institute, comprising ultrashort pulse lasers and coincidence momentum spectroscopy apparatus. Persiapan GMAT dengan cara belajar GMAT itu sendiri. Belajar Soal-soal Math dan Verbal. Kalau mau kursus/bimbel GMAT bisa daftar ke Sandy Institut di daerah Cikini. Silakan googling saja. Belajar dari buku GMAT apa saja bagus.
Lalu untuk perwakilan resmi penyelenggara test GMAT sendiri di Jakarta ada di Pearson Education di UI Salemba. Biaya sekali test USD 250.
GMAT itu test yang benar-benar harus dipersiapkan dengan matang, karena testnya tricky baik untuk verbal dan math. Soal yang dikira kita susah, kalau tau cara mengerjakannya, ternyata sangat gampang dan cepat menyelesaikannya. very tricky.

Our graduate program has recently undergone significant restructuring and expansion. The new Experimental Stream offers a two-course sequence in Experimental Linguistics ('Foundations' and 'Methods'), focusing on experimental, statistical, and computational methods. There are further new offerings in the areas of expertise of our recent hires: Meghan Clayards (Phonetics and Psycholinguistics), Morgan Sonderegger (Computational Phonology and Phonetics), and Michael Wagner (Prosody and Language Processing). These additions complement existing strengths in L2 Acquisition of Syntax (Lydia White), L1 and L2 Acquisition of Phonology (Heather Goad), Neurolinguistics (Yosef Grodzinsky) and Sociolinguistics (Charles Boberg). The experimental stream allows our students to focus on empirical studies while also acquiring a solid grounding in linguistic theory. The department has excellent resources for conducting empirical research: two experimental labs, a field methods lab, and soon a!
lso a computational lab, equipped with state-of-the-art equipment, including eye trackers, sound-attenuated booths, and high-performance computers. We are affiliated with many other experimental facilities through the Centre for Research on Brain, Language, and Music (crblm.ca), and also have close ties to the School of Communication Sciences and Disorders and the Department of Psychology.
At the same time we have also extended our offerings in syntax and semantics. Luis Alonso-Ovalle has joined Brendan Gillon and Bernhard Schwarz to strengthen our program in the areas of Formal Semantics and Pragmatics. Jessica Coon has joined Junko Shimoyama and Lisa Travis to extend our syntax offerings, and has also reinvigorated the department's long tradition in teaching Field Methods and conducting Field Work, which has already resulted in a collaborative language revitalization project with a local community (see migmaq.org for more information).
The 5-year PhD program in Linguistics offers a competitive funding package and allows for applications straight from a B.A., or after an M.A. Applicants are admitted to the program rather than to work with a specific supervisor. This gives students considerable flexibility in developing their own research agenda. The program offers a tight curriculum of core courses in the first year, and a lighter load with more in-depth courses in the second year. Students write and defend two evaluation papers before embarking on their dissertation research, as is common in other North American Ph.D. programs.
The stand-alone M.A. program is intended for students who wish to pursue further studies in Linguistics before deciding whether or not to continue on to a Ph.D. program. We also offer a Qualifying Year program for students transitioning into Linguistics from other fields.

Description:
PhD research studentships in the Surrey Morphology Group.
Surrey Morphology Group (SMG) is pleased to announce an open competition to apply for a fully funded 3-year postgraduate research studentship (fees and subsistence at Research Council rates) to undertake PhD research in the School of English and Languages, University of Surrey.
Important:
The studentships will start in October 2014. Due to funding restrictions, full studentships are only available to Home students (i.e. students from the UK) and (other) EU students who have been resident in the UK for 3 years on 30 September 2014. EU students who have not been resident in the UK for the 3 years preceding the award will be entitled to a Fees Only award. Part-time studentships may be considered under certain circumstances.
Both Home and EU students have to satisfy the standard Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) eligibility criteria. See Annex A of the AHRC Postgraduate Funding Guide for further details:

Pre-application process for PhD research in SMG:
To be considered for a studentship, the topic of the proposed research should be within the area of morphology or the interfaces between morphology and other components of grammar.
In the first instance, we invite potential applicants to submit a brief proposal outlining their proposed research project. The document should outline the key research questions for the project, discuss the methodology to be used and explain why this topic is of interest to the field.
Applicants must be able to demonstrate how their proposed research fits in with research currently undertaken within the group. Details of our ongoing projects, past research and research outcomes are available from the SMG homepage:

The proposal should be no longer than 2 pages in length, including key references.
Enquiries and proposals should be sent by email to Dr. Oliver Bond (o.bond@surrey.ac.uk).
The deadline for pre-application submission is Friday 6th December 2013. We will notify you of the outcome by Friday 20th December.
Note that the application process will have two further stages:
(1) Candidates whose proposals are most highly rated will be invited to submit a full application to the PhD programme by 1 February 2014.
(2) Candidates will also need to complete a separate studentship application due by 19 February 2014.
Further details will be made available to potential candidates after the pre-application process.
