RSS Feeds random authentication failure in kerberos

Hi all,
 
I want to display RSS feeds from a blog in mysite to a page in my site collection.
 
I am getting "The RSS webpart does not support authenticated feeds." error randomly.
 
A quick google returned alot of information telling that this works if authentication is set to Kerberos.
 
The issue is that we already have Kerberos setup fro both web applications (we have mysites in a separate web application and application pool but in the same farm) and if I refresh the browser, the error shows up randomly.
 
Any help will be appreciated.

Peter's caution is valid. Customized master pages from Moss 2007 do no upgrade to 2010.
What that typically means is that you have to make the same customization's to a v4 master (2010 version of the master page) after the upgrade, before any of your pages will display correctly.

My suggestion is that if
a)you are comfortable making a copy of the master -so you can revert back should your modification break something
b)you are comfortable making the changes you need in the footer
c)you don't mind repeating (and will have access to make) the changes again after the upgrade to 2010
d)the proposed upgrade is months away
then go ahead and make the footer change now. Just don't skip step a!
