Dear Teman-Teman Seperjuangan,
Sejak tahun 2009, ketika masih berada di semester 7 untuk program s1, saya bergabung dengan milis beasiswa ini dengan harapan suatu saat dapat berangkat sekolah ke luar negeri. Saya selalu membaca, mencari dan mempelajari informasi dari milis ini.
Akhirnya tiba juga waktu yang dinanti, saya direncanakan untuk berangkat ke UK pada bulan september 2014 hehehe, memang penuh perjuangan.
Saya ingin mengucapkan terima kasih pada milis ini dan orang-orang yang di dalamnya, yang tanpa pamrih ingin membantu dan menyebarkan informasi pada orang lainnya, sungguh luar biasa!!! Saya selalu mendoakan teman-teman seperjuangan di milis ini bahwa semuanya akan meraih kesempatan untuk melanjutkan studinya dengan beasiswa, baik dalam maupun luar negeri, AMIN!

In the US, scholarships administered by the host university are typically granted only after you have been admitted (accepted).
For Masters level Statistics study, you should look into other departments' projects to see if you can get part-time employment. For example, it is often the case that a Psychology professor has a funded project that requires somebody with a lot of skill in statistics (data crunching, basically) so instead of hiring a Psych student that professor may hire a Stats student.
When you get admitted, get in touch with the Stats department's graduate office and ask them about such opportunities.
Your best bet for scholarship from the Stats department is probably Teaching Assistantship, so you should play up any and all teaching / lecturing experience you may have.

Abertay University's Graduate School is fully-funding 18 new doctoral studentships valued at £73,850 each. The pan-University Graduate School offers an integrated training programme to the postgraduate community within a single centre, serving to inculcate interdisciplinary working in our next generation of researchers.
Building on our investment of £1 million over three years, we are inviting applications from excellent graduates within four themed areas:
• Creative Industries (creative arts and technology, design and creativity, next generation business and marketing);
• Environment (ecology, soil, water, food & drink, sustainable urban spaces, energy management, systems biology);
• Security (forensic psychology, forensic science, ethical hacking and digital forensics, law);
• Society (mental and physical health, sport and exercise, assistive technologies, socio-psychology, online communities).
These research themes draw on our industry-facing heritage, our effective interdisciplinary practice, and are built around our existing expertise and internationally recognised successes. Our multi- and inter-disciplinary research strategy bridges conventional boundaries between research fields, enabling us to devise innovative approaches to address societal challenges.
Candidates must have, or expect to obtain a first class or high upper second-class honours degree. A related Masters level qualification is desirable but not essential. Applicants who are non-native speakers of English, the University requires IELTS of 6.5 (with no band less that 6.0)
First entrants will commence in January 2014.
