Embarking on a PhD program is a significant intellectual, career, and personal investment. Obviously it takes several years off of what many consider the prime time of their lives. And intertwined with this dilemma is that it is not clear if it will necessarily be "worth it" in the end.
My personal take is that the value of a PhD program is not only in the diploma / title itself, but also in the experience. Attending a top school such as MIT forces one to really excel, and insist on delivering high-quality work. I can't think of a better place to learn how to be humble, and to excel in life.
Many are not able to - or willing to - commit 5-years' worth of their youth on a PhD program. But just like in personal relationships, can you really truly be sure of how things will turn out if you don't even try?

You should have an interest (or already experience) in areas like:
- Use of speech in theatre and music performances (in particular 'composed

soalnya saya lihat di Admission Procedure dari universitas Nordland, Quota itu hanya Partner Institution selain itu ga bisa.

Biaya kuliah di Norway itu hampir gratis karena tidak ada tuition fee dan per semester nya mahasiswa hanya diwajibkan membayar biaya administrasi sebesar 700 NOK (sekitar 1 juta rupiah), sehingga beasiswa quota scheme ini murni utk living cost. Selain itu anda jg akan mendapatkan reimbursement tiket pesawat dari negara asal ke Norway (saat berangkat), reimbursement tiket pesawat untuk liburan ke negara asal setelah akhir tahun pertama (PP), dan reimbursement tiket pesawat untuk balik ke negara asal (setelah selesai kuliah).Â
Quota scheme ini terdiri dari 70% loan dan 30% grant. Loan tersebut akan jadi grant jika anda pulang dan stay bekerja selama 10 tahun di negara asal setelah selesai kuliah di Norway. Tetapi jika anda stay di negara lain, loan tersebut harus dibayar dengan bunga rendah dan term yang cukup lama.

just for info, kemarin sempet browsing2 tentang buku guide GRE yang paling bagus, ternyata ada web yg state kalo buku GRE ETS itu variasi soalnya A+ namun explanationnya C. sementara buku Kaplan variasi soalnya B+ namun explanation-nya A+. so I withdraw my previous statement ya.. untuk belajar GRE. i beieve it's best to study from kaplan books... trus sebelum test ambil contoh2 soal dari ETS. i hope everyone get the best for their future :)
p.s. i bought the GRE & TOEFL books from www.facebook.com/pinetoppbooks ..

Mohon maaf sebelumnya jika sudah pernah dibahas. Saya ingin menanyakan, apakah jika sebuah beasiswa memberi syarat TOEFL Paper Based kita bisa menggunakan TOEFL institusional? Atau apakah kita harus tes yang internasional dulu di Menara Imperium? Kalau tidak salah biayanya sekitar 1juta ya?
Kemudian, apakah ada diantara teman-teman yang memiliki pengalaman VLIR-UOS? Mohon share di sini ya tentang seleksi dan pengalaman belajar di Belgia, terutama bagi yang menjalani program master di bidang teaching/education.

Saya berencana untuk mengambil kuliah beasiswa di jepang. Tapi untuk aplikasi awalnya hampir semua universitas di Jepang mengharuskan kita membayar application fee yang jumlahnya lumayan besar. Beasiswa yang mao saya apply akan menanggung application fee ini. Tapi untuk mendaftar beasiswa ini dharuskan mempunyai letter of acceptance dari pihak univ. Apa boleh saya minta penundaan pembayaran application fee? Atau saya bilang akan dibayarkan nanti? Tapi jika nanti saya tidak keterima beasiswa, maka saya juga tidak bisa kuliah di Jepang? Apa kawan2 ada pengalaman seperti ini? Mohon sharenya
