Three-year full time funded PhD Studentship
Digital Neighbourhoods

This project explores the links between ICT infrastructures and social
communities. The project will study how such ICT infrastructures, and
in particular broadband internet access, become localized within a
community; and the broader impacts this may have on social networks
and sense of place within a neighbourhood setting. It aims to provide
insights and formulate recommendations on how online social networks
can integrate with place-based communities in order to overcome
digital divides at a neighbourhood level.

Applications are invited from candidates for a 3 year full time PhD
studentship at Plymouth University under the supervision of Dr.
Katharine Willis and Professor Alessandro Aurigi.

The studentship pays for fees (at the UK home student rate) and
provides a £13726 per year stipend for the student for three years.
The project is part of a larger research project funded by the EU
Marie Curie programme and the European Regional Development Fund.

Studentship Description

The student will develop a theoretical approach around the topic of
the relationship between digital community and physical neighbourhood
as well as undertaking research using a range of quantitative and
qualitative methods, but with a focus on social network analysis. The
student will spend time undertaking fieldwork in four neighbourhoods
in Cornwall, in order to assess the social and spatial roles and
implications of internet infrastructures. The student will benefit
from interactions with researchers from a range of disciplines and
with project partners such as Superfast Cornwall/ERDF. BT, Citizen's
Online and the local community organisations.

Person Specification

Applicants should have a Masters qualification in Architecture, Urban
Studies, Urban Sociology, Anthropology or another related discipline.
Applicants would be expected to have a clear interest in the impacts
of technologies on the use of public space and on social networks, and
an ability to undertake cross-disciplinary research with a strong
spatial component. Strong analytical skills are desirable, as is
experience of conducting fieldwork and an ability to work
independently. Candidates should have excellent written and oral
communication skills. We will actively support students in
disseminating the results of their work and the development of their
academic career.

Ketempat kursus / ujiannya aja bilang bersedia tanggung ongkos kirim, atau contact langsung ke IIEF hanya mereka akan kirimnya ke tempat ujian, bukan ke alamat rumah.
Dulu saya TOEFL biaya copy 2 sertificate adlh 100rb, pas TOEIC biaya copy 2 sertificate adlh 55rb.

Saya ingin bertanya apakah ada yang pernah punya pengalaman memesan cetak ulang sertifikat toefl?

saya sedang mengurus beasiswa BPP-DN Dikti. Saya ingin melampirkan sertifikat TOEFL sebagai salah satu persyaratannya. Yang menjadi masalah saya hanya memiliki satu sertifikat dan kampus yang saya tuju meminta dua dan harus ada legalisir dari institusi penyelenggaranya

Saya sudah beberapa kali menghubungi IIEF tapitidak ada jawaban. saya meminta di tempat tes saya namun mereka menunggu cukup 5 orang yang memesan baru dikerjakan alias di pesan di Jakarta padahal saya tidak bisa menunggu lama karena deadline berkas saya 31 Mei. saya takut tidak keburu karena masih banyak yang harus saya urus dan saya tidak bisa menunggu tempat penyelenggara TOEFL di kampus, soalnya tidak ada kepastian kapan sertifikatnya dapat dicetak ulang karena harus menunggu 5 orang.

Apakah ada yang bisa memberikan solusi atau saran, apa yang sebaiknya harus saya lakukan? Karena setahu saya sertifikat TOEFL ITP itu hanya bisa dicetak ulang, tidak bisa dicopy.

hari ini saya ke kedutaan italia, berkaitan dengan hal ini saya diminta
untuk ke kebudayaan italia di HOS Cokroaminoto.
disana saya bertemu dengan Ibu Laela/Ibu Liz diminta memenuhi secara
lengkap:
- surat-menyurat hubungan dengan universitas
- ijasah S1 dan S2
- transkrip yg sudah diterjemahkan ke bahasa inggris
- detail keterangan mengenai mata kuliah dalam bahasa inggris.

kemudian diminta semuanya dilegalisirkan ke:
- kementerian pendidikan
- kementerian Hukum dan HAM
- kementerian luar negeri.

total waktu yang dibutuhkan lebih dari 1 bulan.

1. Saya baru tau tentang (lebih tepatnya tertarik) dengan beasiswa BPP-DN, sedangkan saya sudah melakukan pendaftaran Online untuk Pasca UGM, yang tentu saya isi kolom biaya dengan Biaya Sendiri. Nah, kalau saya mau mengikuti beasiswa tersebut, apakah harus diganti? Soalnya kan dah gak bisa diganti? Kalau bisa diganti, bagaimana cara dan prosedurnya?

2. Bagi pelamar Calon Dosen, berarti syaratnya mengisi online, menyepakati persetujuan (di lampiran1 buku panduan), gak harus minta persetujuan dari dekan atau rektor universitas asal kan ya? (memastikan, kalau ada yang salah tangkap mohon diluruskan ya)

3. Di point ke-2 dalam lampiran 1 (perjanjian calon dosen) ada kalimat, "setelah menyelesaikan program S2/S3 sekurang-kurangnya satu/dua*)kali masa studi normal ditambah satu tahun." 4. Bagi pelamar calon dosen, setelah selesai pendidikan kan ditempatkan ya? Itu ditentukan oleh dikti atau boleh mengusulkan sendiri dengan rkomendasi misalnya?

5. Beasiswa ini lama atau baru ya? kalau lama, adakah yang sudah mendapatkannya?? Share donk pengalamannya ^^b

Itu aja dah pertanyaan saya, saya belum mendapatkan jawaban itu dari posting-posting sebelumnya atau perlu memastikan diri kalau ada yang sama. Okay matur suwun sanget, terima kasih banyak... semoga bermanfaat... ^^b

Saya jawab yg bisa saja ya,

2. Boleh tanpa surat rekomendasi, tapi harus siap2 dilempar ke seluruh
Indonesia setelah lulus
3. Perjanjian akan diteken setelah anda diterima sebagai penerima beasiswa
4. Sudah terjawab di no 2, kalau anda mau lebih aman, minta surat
rekomendasi dari kampus asal atau kampus pilihan anda, karena setelah lulus
anda akan ditugaskan ke kampus yang memberikan rekomendasi
5. Program beasiswa ini sudah lama, dulu namanya Beasiswa Unggulan dan
BPPS, tapi tahun ini digabung jadi satu.

Tergantung dari isi conditional letter-nya. Tapi sepertinya harus lolos
syarat bahasa dulu sebelum bisa diterima.

Saya pikir, kalau belum lolos syarat bahasa, lebih baik ditingkatkan lagi
kemampuannya agar bisa mengikuti kuliah dengan baik nantinya.
