The mapped drive is only really needed if you want to do this
programmatically. If you are going to do it interactively (e.g.
actually open Windows Explorer and drag/drop/copy/paste in) you can
simply use the UNC path version of the URL. E.g.
http://server/site/library/ can be accessed as \\server\site\library
<file:///\\server\site\library> . A few caveats:
1) The "web client" service must be running on whatever the client
machine is.
a. It's on by default for XP/Vista/7
b. It's disabled/off by default for Windows Server
c. For Server 2008/2008R2 you will need to install the "Desktop
Experience" role to have it installed at all.
2) If your site is using HTTP BASIC authentication it might not
work without a registry change on each client -

Subject: [sharepointdiscussions] How to upload files to a document
library via commandline
Hey, y'all, I was looking for a way to upload files to my portal via
plain old commandline - without powershell. And I found a way!
Believe it or not, you can use Windows net use to map a sharepoint
library to a drive letter! Then you can use plain old copy or xcopy or
whatever.
net use r: https://some.portal.org/documents [password]
user:domainName\[username]
copy c:\somefile.txt r:\somefile.txt
I first asked at sharepoint-stackexchange, and then stumbled upon the
answer.
http://sharepoint.stackexchange.com/questions/43044/how-to-upload-file-t
o-sharepoint-via-commandline/43048#43048
Is there a better way to do this? I am not opposed to writing my own
vb.net application.

If the Excel file has connections to an SQL DB, then it will only refresh when
opened in the Excel application. You can store the Excel file in SP, but not
view it. (at least in my experience w MOSS 2007).
IMO, Excel and SP do not play very well together in spite of the claims of
Excel services.

You're going to have to be more specific. What do you want to do with this calendar? Also what version of SP are you using?

Salvete! I have a calendar with one overlay (SP 2010 Enterprise). When I go to view the RSS feed, it is blank - that is, there are no entries at all.
Now, for the calendar, RSS is enabled. For the site, RSS is enabled. I can view the RSS feeds of other lists on the same site, and they do have RSS entries. But for the calendar, the RSS page is generated, but no entries are in it.
Am I missing something? Shouldn't the RSS for a calendar produce entries? Is there any way to get a clue as to what is happening?

Check the settings on your calendar list. It sounds like maybe the RSS
view is excluding past events and/or items based on created/modified
date.

I checked the view via "Modify this view", and the filter is set to "show all items in this view". Is there somewhere else to look?

In RSS Settings, they are set to include a maximum of 25 items, and for 60 days, but I can't get the RSS to display anything from even this month.

Ah, I figured it out. It only generates an RSS feed for a calendar if you are using IE. It doesn't make any RSS for firefox.

We can create simple pages that allow the user to edit the page, called "wiki" pages. They usually go into the "Site Pages" or "Site Assets" library.
Now, I want to create a web-part page and use the page-viewer to display those wizzywig pages.
Problem is, when you do that, it displays all the site's title, ribbon and navigation inside the web-part. So, if you have a web-part page with three web-part zones, and you load your wiki pages into each one, you end up with repeated navigation trying to fit into all those little iframes.
Is there a way to create a publishing page or simple page without all the navigation?

append ?IsDlg=XYZ to the URLs of the wizzywig pages (XYZ means actual value doesn't matter, default is 1)

You mean in the page-viewer link? Like this?
/mysite/SitePages/Media.aspx?IsDlg=XYZ
That gets me an "unexpected error". I don't think I am catching on here...
