The Electric Line Specialist works under the general supervision of the P&A Supervisor and performs manual labor task in assisting the P&A Supervisor in conducting electric wireline operations. The Electric Line Specialist also works with the P&A Supervisor and other crew members to perform general labor work in all aspects of P&A operations.
Duties include the following:
Assists an P&A Supervisor and/or co-workers in setting up a service unit, unloading equipment, assembling, preparing tools and rigging up at a well site location.
Assists an P&A Supervisor in assembling, preparing, checking and loading equipment required for a scheduled job.
Must be able to operate wireline unit to hoist wellbore tools in and out the wellbore.
Must be familiar with correct procedures and perform basic routine equipment maintenance in preparation for the next job.
Must clean and check service unit tools and equipment.
Must be able to maintain the confidentiality of the client's data and TETRA information
Must accurately maintain explosives log on a daily basis.
Must assist supervisor in keeping a detailed equipment log.
Responsible for making any necessary repairs to equipment, re-stocking parts and materials at the completion of each job.
Responsible for insuring all equipment is operated and maintained in the proper manner.
Must have thorough knowledge of well downhole configurations and characteristics.
Responsible for contributing to certain decisions on well conditions.
Responsible for accurately perforating and jet cutting at desired depths in addition to running and setting plugs.
Responsible for assisting crew members during plug and abandonment operations.
Able to acquire an ATF state of Louisiana Explosives Blaster License.
Able to run and handle explosives used in perforating, setting CIBP, tubing and casing cutters.
Supports and participates in the organization's Continual Improvement Program to conform to ISO 9001 requirements by complying with Quality Policies and Procedures and meeting Quality Objectives
Performs other duties as assigned
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or equivalent combination of education with at least two years of related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
To perform this job successfully, the Electric Line Specialist must satisfactorily demonstrate the following:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instruction and procedure manuals.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram or schedule form when applicable.
