Sorry Brother Gabriel,

While appending ?IsDlg=1 to the URL of most SharePoint pages removes most of the navigation umbrella, this won't work with Wiki pages.

There's a in depth description what's going on and a possible solution using a delegate control http://blog.furuknap.net/solving-the-ribbon-tab-with-id-ribbon-read-has-not-been-made-available-for-this-page-or-does-not-exist-use-ribbon-maketabavailable.

http://spwikidialogfix.codeplex.com/releases/view/77768

Please evaluate carefully and make an educated judgment before applying in your environment.

You mean in the page-viewer link? Like this?

/mysite/SitePages/Media.aspx?IsDlg=XYZ

That gets me an "unexpected error". I don't think I am catching on here...

Wow! That looks right nice. Have you or anyone else here tried it?

Okay, I tried it. It works *somewhat* for a publishing page - it hides everything but the ribbon. It doesn't work for a plain "page" at all. (publishing is enabled, by the way). Funny thing, it *does* work for a publishing page completly as long as the page is *checked out*. Once you check it in, the ribbon shows.

I gave up long ago trying to work with SP wiki sites. It was easier to setup a LAMP server.

Well, I think I'm getting into the nitty gritty now!

I have created a simple custom list via Sharepoint Designer, and then created a custom NewForm.aspx called NewFormTest.aspx to go with it. Now I have to add a field to the custom list. I understand that a custom list does not get updated automatically when a new field is created in the underlying list.

So,how in the world do I get that new field to show up in my custom list?

I know if I update the custom list and create a new NewFormTest form, that it would populate, but then I would have to go and reformat my whole list!

I can't see any way to just drag the field from "Current Data Source" in the "Data Source Details" panel. What good is that panel? I'm sure I am missing something.

The only thing I can see to do is to find other rendered data fields in the code, duplicate them and then try and guess what to put in the id, fieldname, designer binding, etc. Some of that is pretty much gibberish, so I am plumb apt to destroy the form doing that.

Should I be willing to believe that there is no easy way to do this?
