Does anyone have experiences changing the Group By Headers to hyperlinks?
Ideally, when I do a group by <site> in the CQWP, I'd like site grouping to link to the site url.
It seems simple enough but have not had success making this happen.
Has anyone out there tried it?
Thanks.
Harry

Salvete! I have this problem whereby if I view someone's user profile, and it has information linked to their profile in mysites, I am asked to login again - with the same credentials!

I found this link, but don't want to believe that this is the answer:
http://sharepoint.stackexchange.com/questions/26265/getting-prompted-for-password-when-going-to-my-sites?rq=1

It is enough to make you want to get rid of mysites altogether. My users have a hard enough time logging in the first time.

Can it be resolved?

Did you configure authentication for mysites?

Yes, I am able to log into the site without any problem. In my user profile on mysites I added a picture. Now, in the main portal site, whenever my profile is viewed, the viewer (even me!) has to log into mysites in order to see it - else you get a red x photo.

Both sites are on the same domain, like this:
http://mysites.mydomain.org
https://main.mydomain.org

Yes, as eluded, adding the mysite URL to the local intranet zone of the
browser will fix the problem.

Hello all!

I posted this question here:
http://sharepoint.stackexchange.com/questions/39764/how-can-i-enable-editing-for-user-information-ad-properties

but haven't gotten a good answer yet. So I thought I would try it out on you gurus.

In a list, I have a column for users. When I click on the username it opens up the user profile panel with information gotten from AD for that user. This is good. But when I click on the "Edit Item" button, all I get is an edit panel for my own system account profile!

You would think that if I clicked on "Edit Item" of a user's profile that I would get THAT user's profile, and be able to edit it.

Now, I don't want to use mysites at all (my users don't need special profiles). I want everything to work through AD only.

I can confirm that my User Profile Service and User Profile Sync service are running, and I am able to create a connection. mysites is running and I can access the pages there.

I want the little edit box to let me actually edit something!
What am I missing, and how do I get it to work the right way?

The answer is yes and no.

Some of that data is pulled from AD.

You can allow users to change certain fields. These field need to be changed through CA my site settings

Okay, I see now, where to specify which fields show up on the "Edit User Profile box". However, changing the settings doesn't seem to do any good.

Having an odd issue and wondered if anyone might have a direction to point me in.

I have created a couple of Server Name Mappings to mask the server name of files servers with a friendly name. A full crawl has been done on the content sources to apply the new mappings. Here's the rub, if a standard search is performed, such as All Sites, the mappings are applied in the result set. However, if a scoped search is done, the actual server name shows up and not the mappings.

In my test environment the mappings work in both cases so I've been trying to track down where the configuration issue must be on the production server that is causing this. Any pointers would be appreciated. this is a truly strange case. What searching I have done suggests it might be that I need to alter the XSLT of the results web part, but as I stated, in test it works with no fuss.
