[beasiswa] [butuh info] Beasiswa dg kondisi sdh mendapat LoA/Conditional Letter

Dear All,

Anak saya sudah mendapatkan conditional offer dari Univ of Birmingham dan unconditional offer dari Univ of Manchester dengan major Chemical Engineering.

Dari conditional offer tersebut, conditions yang tertera adalah utk mengirimkan original/certified copies dari dokumen-dokumen application. Serta harus mendapatkan ATAS clearance certificate.

Pertanyaan-nya adalah:
1. Apabila kita accept conditional offer tersebut, maka kita harus ke universitas itu atau bagaimana? Bagaimana juga dengan yg unconditional offer? Mengingat anak saya harus merespon offer letter tersebut sebelum Maret 2012 sedangkan dia masih menunggu hasil dari salah satu scholarship yang kemungkinan akan keluar pada bulan Maret akhir.

2. Dalam offer letter juga tercantum bahwa ATAS clearance hanya valid selama 6 bulan sebelum program kuliah dimulai. Apakah artinya certificate tersebut baru bisa diurus maximum 6 bulan sebelum program tersebut dimulai?

3. Apa perbedaan ATAS dan CAS? Apakah anak saya harus mengurus keduanya?

4. Adakah yang mempunyai info mengenai scholarship lain selain chevening dan DIKTI untuk kedua universitas dan major yang saya sebutkan di atas? Misal untuk women who study engineering?

Mohon advice-nya dari teman-teman sekalian. Kalau ada yang masih belajar maupun alumni dari University of Birmingham atau University of Manchester, boleh share info-info lain?

Mohon bantuan info dan pengalaman dari laskar bea siswa yg mengalami hal spt dialami anak saya ini.

Ini share pengalaman pribadi:
Saya dosen UIdengan status non pns. S1 saya manajemen dengan konsentrasi manajemen sdm, dan S2 saya psikologi terapan sdm.
Beberapa tahun lalu saya daftar seleksi PNS dan sampai tahap wawancara. Pada akhirnya saya gagal; dari informasi yang saya dapatkan karena Departemen khawatir S2 saya tidak linear.
Berikutnya saya mengambil MBA (harusnya sudah linear ya) dan tahun lalu daftar seleksi PNS lagi, sampai wawancara lagi, and again...gagal lagi..hehe (kesimpulannya saya tidak diterima bukan karena linear atau tidak).
Tahun lalu juga kebetulan program studi kami dikunjungi oleh orang Dikti untuk akreditasi. Dalam kesempatan tersebut, mereka 'mempertanyakan' beberapa dosen kami yang tidak linear. Dalam hal ini mereka melihat gelar/ijazah.
Padahal menurut saya linearity seharusnya dilihat dari bidang keilmuan; sebagai contoh manajemen banyak sekali menerima kontribusi dari cabang ilmu lain seperti psikologi, sosiologi, komunikasi dsb. Malah seharusnya bagus bila kita juga memahami bidang ilmu lain selama itu terkait dengan keahlian kita.
Kesimpulannya, silakan memperhatikan persyaratan administrasi dari Dikti tanpa harus mengorbankan interest dan bidang keahlian kita.

Dear milister

Mohon infonya apa legalisir IELTS boleh dilakukan oleh notaris. Saya sudah minta legalisir oleh IDP tapi mereka sudah tidak melaukan legalisir. Jadi IELTS akan dicetak ulang oleh IDP dan langsung dikirimkan ke universitas yang berhubungan dengan biaya 210ribu. Biaya ini jauh lebih mahal dibandingkan biaya legalisir per 1 halaman. Karena itu saya berpikir untuk legalisir di notaris. Tapi apa kesahannya sama dengan legalisir oleh IDP?
